FINEMAN SHIRTS March MOBILIZE FORCES IN FIGHT AGAINST RESTRICTIONS ON PALESTINE LAND PURCHAS E Liberal forces in England and Jews through- out the world were mobilized this week to oppc,;e the restrictions on land sales in Palestine. Protests were heard in the House of Commo., s on Wednesday, and Jews stopped work on Thu. - day in Palestine to express indignation against tt implementing of this portion of the MacDoniC , l White Paper. The British Labor Party is unanimous'. in i.s opposition to this proposal and will, together with the Liberals and a group of Conservatives, condemn the plan at the discussion in Parliament next Wed- nesday. Captain Victor Cazalet, Conservative, Major R. Attlee, leader of the Labor Opposition, Lieut.-Col. Leopold S. Amery, Conservative, and others joined in heated debate in the House of Commons on Wednesday last condemning the government plan which, as published in Jerusalem, provides for the prohibition of the sale of land to Jews in the hill country of Palestine and to restrict it in other parts of the country. The British press is denouncing the govern- ment on its arbitrary action without the approval of Parliament and the League of Nations. In the meantime it is pointed out that had Jews subscribed to the Jewish National Fund loan floated last year that the new restrictions would have been meaningless since much larger purchases of land would have been made by Jews in the meantime. With tremendous stretches of land still avail- able in spite of the restrictions, action will be in- augurated at once to acquire as much land as pos- sible in the areas not affected by the latest ruling. Hope is in the meantime held out that the rectric- tions will be defeated. afternoon at Lewis Bros. Dr. Fineman died on Friday, Feb. 23, at the age of 35.
