Twenty bales consisting of
10,000 pounds of used clothing
were shipped on Feb. 24, via the
SS. Vulcania, to the Polish war
refugees in Hungary. The clothes
which have been collected during
the past few weeks by the Fed-
eration of Polish Jews in Amer-
ica, at its old clothes depot at
33 Greene St., New York City,
were shipped by Ezra, women's
division of the Federation, which
is defraying the cost of trans-
portation. Many other thousands
of pounds of used clothing are
now at the warehouse being made
ready for shipment to the refu-
gees in Lithuania at an early
date.
The Polish War Refugees
Committee in Budapest, headed
by Countess Joseph Ka•olyi,
Chief Rabbi Simon Hevesi and
A. Stern, president of the Buda-
pest Jewish Community, will
supervise the distribution of the
clothing among the needy refu-
gees in Hungary.
Albert Brown, field worker for
the Federation of Polish Jews,
took issue with a statement made
by a speaker in Detroit recently
that no clothing is being shipped
to Europe. Quoting the above
facts, Mr. Brown also said
that the shipments being made
to Finland, Lithuania, Hun-
gary and Rumania attest to the
value of the Polish Federation's
work.
The Polish Federation's cam-
paign for clothes goes on in full
force and all available clothing
may be sent to the local office,

Important American Broadcast
Endorsed by Anti-Defama-
tion League

An important radio program,
electrically transcribed, is now
being heard over 400 stations in
this country.
This program, dramatized by
a cast of 20 actors, highlights
the progress and value of Ameri-
can democracy by portraits of
historic incidents, and the con-
tributions which have been made
by component elements of
American life.
Particularly meriting interest
is the fact that German and
Italian scripts of the program are
utilized in the 13 weeks con-
tinuous series for areas highly
populated by these nationals.
The English series is of 26 weeks'
continuity.
This program is endorsed by
the Anti-Defamation League and
can be heard over WMBC Sun-
day nights at 10:15, under the
title "Lest We Forget".
