Kvutzah Ivrith held a pep lunch-
eon meeting at Harold Garber's
Refreshment Center on 12th St.,
Monday afternoon, Jan. 22. Mrs.
R. Rubenstein presided and called
for reports of chairmen on the
progress of pledges for the corn-
ing donor luncheon to be held
Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Lachar's on
Cass Ave.
Herman Jacobs, director of the
Jewish Community Center, will
be the main speaker. Cantor J.
H. Sonenklar will sing and there
will be readings by Aaron Rosen-
berg and a short address by Ber-
nard Isaacs, superintendent of
the United Hebrew Schools.
The money raised by the Aux-
iliary goes towards a fund to
help subsidize the Hebrew week-
lies and publications endorsed by
the Hebrew Schools and lovers of
the Hebrew language. At times
during the season this fund also
contributes towards the expenses
of bringing Hebrew lecturers to
the Detroit Hebrew speaking plat-
