Young Judaea Chanukah
Program Sunday

Members of all Young Judaea
groups of Detroit, their parents,
friends and the general public
are invited to attend the joint
Young Judaea activity of this
season, a Chanukah program, to
be held on Sunday, Dec. 17, at
2:30 p, m., at the Parkside He-
brew School, 15705 Parkside Ave.
This program is planned by the
Young Judaea Leaders' Council
of Detroit, under the chairman-
ship of Evelyn Eiselman and
Sadie Finkelstein, and will be
participated in by members of all
Detroit groups. Among the fea-
tures of the program will be the
blessing of the Chanukah candles
by members of the Bar Cochba
Aguda, of which Miss Annette
Isaacs is the leader. A Chanukah
drill will be presented by mem-
bers of the Henrietta Szold
group, led by Miss Esther Char-
nes. A play, entitled "Chanukah
Comes Once a Year," was writ-
ten by and will be enacted by
members of the Lillian Wald
Aguda, under the direction of the
leader, Miss Sadie Finkelstein.
Chanukah poetry will be given by
members of the Bnos Yebuda
Aguda, Esther Duchin, leader,
and by members of the group of

Primrose Benevolent Club

A Chanukah party with com-
munity singing, a Chanukah play,
a grab bag, dancing and a grand
march will be part of the monthly
meeting of the Detroit Junior
Service Group scheduled for Sun-
day afternoon, Dec. 24, at 2:30
o'clock in the auditorium of the
Aaron DeRoy Memorial Building
of the Jewish Community Center,
Woodward and Holbrook Ayes.
Miss Mildred Beerbohm and Ray
Davis, co-chairmen of the social
committee which arranged the
party, state that admission will
be the presentation at the door
of a 10 cent gift for the grab bag.
Sidney Glanzrock is chairman of
the Juniors' dramatic grolp. The
Chanukah play to be presented,
under his direction, is entitled
Into the Frying Pan." As chair-
man of the program committee,
Max Chomsky has collaborated in
planning the affair.
The Welfare Council, formed
for the purpose of acquainting
the members of the Junior Serv-
ice Group with the work of the
agencies of the Jewish Welfare
Federation, will hold its first
meeting of the year on Thursday
evening, Dec 21, at 8 o'clock, in
the Jewish Community Center.
This meeting has been called by
Joshua Horwitz, Alex Baruch and
Miss Miriam Snetzer, co-chairmen
of the group, and this initial ses-
sion will deal with the organiza-
tional set-up of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation. Isidore Sobeloff,
executive director of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, will lead the

Jacob Weissman and Maurice
Glasier, co-chairmen of the Jun-
iors' Campaign Techniques Group,
have called their first meeting

Goldie Myerson Group of
Pioneer Women's Organi-
zation Celebrates Chanu-
kah

The Goldie Meyerson group of
the Pioneer Women's Organiza-
tion celebrated Chanukah last
Monday, at the home of Mrs.
Edith Kupennan. The story of
Chanukah, the symbols of the
holiday in the light of present
day events, and the role the
woman plays in the upbuilding
of Palestine were described by
members. There was singing of
Chanukah Bengt, games and re-
freshments.
The members of the Goldie
Meyerson group are busily work-
ing for the donor luncheon,
which will take place on Jan. 17,
at the Masonic Temple. For in-
formation on reservations, call
the luncheon chairman, Mrs. M.
Goldwater, Ty. 4-7528.

Dr. Mark Gunzburg An-
nounces Series of Musicales

Dr. Mark Gunzbourg will start
series of musicales dedicated
to the unknown compositions of
modern and old composers in his
new studios, at 449 W. Ferry,
where the Detroit Civic Opera
Choir, with Thaddeus Wronaki as
director, hold the rehearsals. The
first musicale will be given on
Sunday, Jan. 14, 3:30 p, re., and
the program will include the
works of Henri Hera and Louis
Moreau Gottschalk, the two pio-
neers of American concert life.
