who gave specific instructions
concerning the prospect slips to

group of men formed the Turover
Aid Society, devoted to giving
aid to their landsleit in Russia,
also to contributing to local and
national charitable institutions.
On Jan. 14, 1940, at Lachar's,
the Turover Aid Society, now
grown to one of the largest ver-
eins in Detroit, will celebrate
its 30th anniversary at a banquet
and dance to which many civic
leaders and heads of vereins will
be invited.
Preparations for this event
were made last Sunday evening
at a dinner at Lachar's to which
the officers, directors and com-
mittee members were invited.

week vacation at the Fresh Air
Camp. These children are select-
ed by the Zedakah Juniors' camp
investigators from a list provided
by the Zedakah Club and vavri-
ous Jewish social service agen-

Through the cooperation of the
Jewish public in the past three
years, the organization was able
to provide 50 camp scholarships
for these needy children.
