ing at 8 o'clock, at harper Hos-
pital, after a brief illness. Fu-
neral services were held on
Wednesday at 1 p. m., from
his late residence, 659 E. Boston
Blvd., and burial was in Mach-
pelah Cemetery.
Rabbi A. 111. Ashinsky of
Pittsburgh, formerly of Detroit,
brother of Mrs. Rosenthal, the
former Gertrude Ashinsky, came
here to officiate at the funeral.
Surviving Mr. Rosenthal , be-
sides his widow, to whom he was
married 47 years ago-on Sept.
18, 1892-are 12 children, Mrs.
N. P. Levin of Los Angeles,
Calif., Manuel M., Mrs. Barney
Albert, Mrs. S. L. Kavanau,
Rabbi Harold N., Jay J., Ervin,
Mrs. Lewis R. Barak, Nathan,
Mrs. Robert Trepeck, Mrs. Har-
riet Beale and Leonard.
Mr. Rosenthal had conducted
a wholesale business in the same
establishment on the Eastern
Market for over 50 years and
had contributed to numerous
philanthropic and religious activi-
ties. He was a former president
of the Hebrew Free Loan Asso-
ciation and a former vice-presi-
dent of Congregation Beth Ja-
cob, Ile was a member of the
F. and A. M., Odd Fellows, House
of Shelter. Chevra Kadisha, Jew-
ish Old Folks Home, several or-
thodox synagogues and other or-
ganizations.
