tory of the Sisterhood of Temple
Business and Professional Group and Junior
Beth El, a national president,
Hadassah on Sept. 25

Mrs. Leon Watters, will be the
speaker, at a luncheon, Oct. 16,
at the Temple. Dues will be pay-
able at that time.
To correct an error: the first
regular meeting of the Sisterhood
will be held Nov. 9, at which
time Norman Thomas will give
an address, the subject to be
announced at a later date.
On Oct. 3 and 4, a convention
of the State Federation of Tem-
ple Sisterhoods will be hrld in
Petoskey, Mich. Any member de-
siring to attend can get all the
particulars by calling the presi-
dent, Mrs. Lawrence Freedman,
Un. 3-4648.
The Thursday sewing group
will resume activity following
Succoth. The Tuesday group will
also resume its work after the
Iloly Days. Young women who
would like to join in this work

urday on the Ile de France from
the World Zionist Congress held
in Geneva, Switzerland, where
she was an official delegate of
the national organization, will
give a report of the Congress
and also first hand information
on world affairs.
Mrs. Max Frank, newly elected
president will conduct the meet-
ing and will introduce Mrs. Julian
Krolik, 1939 Honor Roll chair-
man, who will formally launch
the Honor Roll by announcing
her officers, key-women, and cap-
tains. Stress will be laid on the
fact that because of war condi-
tions Hadassah's work must be
increased to meet the demands
of the times and new situations.
Delegates to the national con-
vention to be held in New York
from Oct. 24 to Oct. 29 will be
announced by the nominating
committee at the time of the
meeting.

of this committee to make con-
tracts with the synagogues and
arrange for at least one sermon
to be delivered during the High
Holy Days on the subject of

The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools will dis-
cuss at their next board meeting
the manner in which this body is
to cooperate with the Education
Month committee.
It has already become tradi-
tional for Education Month to be
terminated with a dinner. This
is sponsored by the Board of Di-
rectors of the United Ilebrew
Schools, headed by Louis Robin-
son, its president.

Ninth Donor Luncheon of
Pioneer Women's Organi-
zation on Jan. 17

Pioneer Women's Organization
resumes activities for the coming
season. All the groups of the or-
ganization have begun their
meetings with great enthusiasm.
They are determined more than
ever to increase the attendance
this year for the ninth donor
luncheon which will be held Jan.
17 at the Masonic Temple.

arship Winner Completes
Studies in New York

Miss Evelyn Gurvitch, who was
awarded the artist scholarship of
the Detroit Music Study Club,
has just completed her study in
New York, coaching with the
noted pianist Frank Sheridan.
Miss Gurvitch has concertized in
New York and Detroit, and her
brilliant technique and serious
musicianship have brought her
recognition both as a pianist
and teacher. Miss Gurvitch has
appeared as soloist with the As-
sociation Symphony Orchestra I
