Since the testimonial banquet
given in his honor several months
ago by Congregation Bnai David
Elmhurst at 14th, Rabbi Joshua
S. Sperka has been preparing
for a long-anticipated trip to
Europe and Palestine. Arrange-
ments were completed for his
sailing the first week in July.
The imminent threat of war
which developed during the past
few weeks and the unrest in
Palestine gave the congregation
much concern. For this reason,
the board of trustees, at a spe-
cial meeting, unanimously de-
cided to prevail upon Rabbi
Sperka to postpone the trip un-
til a more propitious time.
The board, in behalf of the
congregation, sincerely thanks
all its and the rabbi's friends
who extended their good wishes
to him.
