SERMON ON THE MOUNT PROPOSED AS
ANSWER TO ENEMIES OF DEMOCRACY

Mishkan Israel Synagogue,
2625 Blaine St., announces the
opening of a membership drive
commencing with the second days
of Passover, in honor of Rabbi
Isaac Stollman, spiritual leader of
the congregation.
The effort will continue for
Passover and the High Holy
the period intervening between
Days. During this interim com-
mittees will be organized to carry
out the plans for the drive by
appeals and solicitations. It is
planned to have a number of af-
fairs during the spring and sum-
mer of both social and spiritual
nature for the furtherance of
this project. It is expected that
the Young People's Society of the
synagogue will attract new mem-
bers to the congregation.
The Mishkan Israel Synagogue
has been in existence for close
to 25 years, formerly on Benton
St. until the erection of its pres-
ent edifice at 2625 Blaine St.
Rabbi Isaac Stollman became
spiritual head of the synagogue
about 14 years ago and has re-
tained an ever-increasing regard
from both his congregants and
the community in general for his
scholarship and judicious dis-
charge of the duties as rabbi. Joe
Weiss is president of the con-
gregation, L. Gellman, secretary,
and A. Gordziek, treasurer.
On the last day of Passover,
Tuesday, April 11, during the
morning memorial services, Rabbi
Stollman will speak on "Grati-
tude to the Deceased."
