B. I. Rosenberg 25 years ago, celebrated its silver jubilee at its January meeting. A testimonial certificate, prais- ing the work of the auxiliary, its benevolent and meritorious serv- ice which it had rendered to the B'nai Israel Congregation and the Jewish community of Sagi- naw, was presented to Mrs. Ro- senberg in appreciation of what her organization has accomplish- ed during the last 25 years. Samuel B. Weinberg, president of the 11'nai Israel Congregation, made the presentation, and Mrs. Rosenberg, founder of the auxil- iary who served as president of the organization for 22 years, ac- cepted the testimonial in behalf of the auxiliary. The beautiful certificate which is framed in a silvered frame will from now on decorate the front wall of B'nai Israel meeting hall as a reminder of the wonderful cooperation between the auxiliary and the officers of the congrega- tion. The presentation committee, which was headed by Samuel 13. Weinberg, t h e congregation's president, included Ira Mandel- stem, vice-president; Benjamin J. Rosenberg, treasurer; Jonas Man- delstam, secretary; Rabbi Israel T. Notis, Charles Goldstein. trus- tee. and Morris Nobel., trustee. The hostesses at the luncheon were: Mrs. Ira Mandel- stam. Mrs. Samuel B. Weinberg and Mrs. George Bloomfield. Thee Ladies' Auxiliary of the B'nai Israel Congregation of Sag- inaw, which started its existence with only a few members, grew to great proportions during the following years, and it now in- cludes the greater majority of all the Jewish women in Saginaw.
