palms and ferns.
Mrs. A. E. Kantor, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor,
Miss Mildred Lipshield was maid
of honor. Miss Ethel Kessler and
Miss Frayda Velick were brides-
mends.
A. E. Kantor attended Mr.
Stanley, and David Velick and
Joseph Pont acted as ushers.
Preceding the ceremony Mil-
ton Orman sang "1 Love You
Truly."
Dinner was served the wed-
ding guests, and Dr. Bernard
Rose, brother-in-law of the bride,
acted as toastmaster. Following
dinner, a dance and reception
was held in the ballroom.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley left by
plane for New York where they
will make their home.
Mrs. Stanley is well known in
Alpena and Detroit. Following
attendance at Alpena High
School, she attended the Sayre
School, Lexington. Ky., and Bat-
tle Creek College.
At present Mr. Stanley is a
member of the Henry Naegle
orchestra, Hotel Pierce, New
York City.

Pisgah Lodge No. 34 of Bnai
Brith held a closed meeting Sion-
day, Dec. 5, at which 450 mem-
bers were present, including
many of the newly-initiated Leo
N. Levi Memorial class. Judge
Joseph Sanders was in the chair.
Ilerman Osnos, A. J. Redblatt
and Ben J. Hamburg were award-
ed prizes in the membership
drive held recently. liarrY Yud-
buff, chairman of the member-
ship committee, also awarded
pins to many other members who
worked on the project. A choir
will be organized under the di-
rection of Victor Finn, one of
the new brothers.
The Woman's Auxiliary of
Bnai Brith will be hostess to
Pisgah and Louis Marshall Lodges
at a joint meeting to be held

The next meeting of the Stu-
dent Group of the Music Study
Club of Detroit will take place
on Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p. m.,
' at the home of Eleanor Green-
baum, 2969 Webb Ave. The
group is planning a study course
which will be devoted to modern
music. Walter Dayer, member of
the faculty of the Ganapol Stu-
dio of Musical Art, will speak.
Blossom Rovetch will illustrate
Mr. Dayer's lecture with piano
selections.
