CASE BREAKS UP "GYP"
U SED AUTO DEALERS

One of the many things bene-
fitting the general motoring pub-
lic and reflecting much credit
on the administration of Leon
D. Case. Secretary of State, was
the breaking up of a ring of
" KW " used car dealers.
In this crusade Secretary Case
had the earnest cooperation of
the great majority of used car
dealers who had always dealt
fairly with the public and who
greatly resented the unethical,
illegal tactics of these unscrupu-
lous competitors. These dealers
cheated buyers through excessive
finance charges which in some
cases were inflated as high as
22 per cent of the actual cost
of the car.
Through strict enforcement of
the new "purchase agreement"
law passed by the last legisla-
ture, Secretary Case forced gyp
dealers to clean house or get
out of business so that now
buyers of used cars can be con-
fident that they are getting a
square deal.
