matter was discussed. and it was

this phase of the work should by

The Bund replied to the Con-
ference by saying the latter rep-
resented only "Jewish-minded
Germans of New York" and that
it had betrayed the German peo-
ple by endeavoring to divide Ger-

Unable to use its 187-acre tract
in Southbury for a camp because,

and sell it in individual lots to

vealed this new maneouvre in a

government will be tried out, to-
gether with certain economic
ideas which have been suggested
by several large industrialists.

local ordinances. The situation of
this property is ideal for the plans
which have been worked out by
our engineers who have decided
that the rather mountainous in-
gress and egress from the camp
would not permit the handling of
large week end crowds with the
complete safety that is required
in all our camp areas. The land
was therefore turned over to our
economics division by the director
of the camps division for develop-
ment"
