The United Hebrew Schools
have made arrangements with
Cantor Leo Radin to conduct serv-
ices during the High Holy Days
in their newly decorated auditor-'
ium of the Philadelphia-Byron
School. Cantor Radin is famous
for his musical talents. He
studied in Poland under Cantor
Wolf Bachrach, and conducted
services in many American and
Canadian cities.
The auditorium of the Phila-
delphia-Byron school has been
specially decorated and prepared
for the High Holy Doy services,
and reservations for tickets should
be made at"fthe office of the
Philadelphia-Byron School.
The chairman of the Minyan
committee is Isaac Rosenthal, who
is the chairman of the house com-
mittee of the United ,Hebrew
Schools.
Services at Tuxedo-Holmur
Synagogue
'Cantor Jacob Skolnick. who is
well known and liked in Detroit
for his beautiful Yomim Neroyim
services, will officiate. with the
assistance of a carefully selected
choir, in the Tuxedo-Holmur
synagogue, which has been re-
decorated and prepared for the
High Holy Days.
Nathan Yaffa, a member of the
board of directors of the United
Hebrew Schools and the president
of the Tuxedo-Holmur synagogue,
is the chairman of the Minyon
committee and is in charge of the
sale of the tickets.
The proceeds of the minyonim
at the Philadelphia-Byron and
Tuxedo-Holmur schools go to-
wards the maintenance of the
schools.

Rabbi Morris Adler, recently
appointed assistant to Dr. A. M.
Hershman, has agsumed charge of
the Sunday School and announces
Sept. 11 and 18 as the dates of
registration. All former pupils
will be notified of their respective
grades and rooms. It will be to
the advantage of pupils who wish
to enroll for the first time to
contact Rabbi Adler's office as
soon as possible as classes will be
closed in the near future.
The incoming ninth grade will
be graduated from the elementary
department on Simchas Torah, as
in previous years. This year's
class will be the largest in the
history of Shaarey Zedek.

Re-Open Yeshiva

The Yeshiva Beth Yehuda of
Detroit will reopen Sunday, Sept.
11, with new classes in Hebrew
Chumosh, Raski and advanced
Gemorah.
At the last meeting of the
board of directors, consisting of
the local rabbis and laymen, re-
ports of activities were given by
Isaac Rosenthal, president, and
Rabbi I. Stollman, chairman of
the board of education. Inspired
by the accomplishment of the ye-
shiva in the past, as indicated by
the 25 boys, ex-students of the
Detroit Yeshiva, who attend at
present the yeshivas of New
York and Chicago, the committee
urges the officers and allpatron-
izers to redouble their efforts in
maintaining the yeshiva.
The ladies auxiliary of the
yeshiva, headed by Mrs. Pearl Rot,
tenberg, is increasing its gifts
towards balancing the budget.
