Golf Program
The monthly meeting of the Jew-
ish Community enter Men's Club
will he held on Tuesday, April 12,
at 8:30 P, M., in, the General
Lounge of the building, Woodward
at Holbrook. With the advent of
spring, the members have become
interested in golf, and have, there-
fore, arranged for a special pro-
gram in which this popular out-
door sport may be discussed.
The program committee, under
Dr. Leon A. Katzin, arranged for
a professional golf player and an
amateur tournament champion to
give their views and sidelights on
the sport. In addition, a film de-
picting golf playing will be shown
as a special feature of the pro-
gram.
Preceding the meeting, a games
period will be held and following
the meeting refreshments will be
served. All young Jewish men
from the age of 23 are eligible to
attend and submit applications for
membership to the organization.
Ephraim Ticktin Killed
Young Idealist, Once Active in the Ha--
shomer Hatzair of Detroit, Victim
of Arab Raid on Juara
Ephraim Ticktin is dead!
As we go to press we are in receipt of a cable
from Palestine bringing the sad news of the death
of Ephraim Ticktin, former Detroiter, and Eleazer
Krongold of Toronto, during an Arab attack on
Juara, near Haifa.
Ephraim left Detroit about seven years ago to
settle in Palestine as a Chalutz. At that time he
was not yet 18. He married in Palestine and there
are two children.
He was one of the moat idealistic of the Zionist
youth here. A brilliant thinker, an able speaker,
a master of Hebrew he was a recognized leader
in the Haahomer Hatzair. His services to the Jew-
ish National Fund were considered invaluable by
his co-workers who now mourn his death.
It is with deep sorrow that we record the news
of his death.

Social on Sunday
Advance ticket sales indicate
that the forthcoming Y. P. S. May-
time dance to be held Sunday, May
1, will be a huge success. Sonia
Markofsky, Hilda Jacobs and Ber-
nie Berghoff have also been named
on the dance committee. Ber-
nard Beaman and his orchestra
will be featured.
The society will have another
