an open house program on Tues.

one of a series of such programs
being arranged by the women's
committee of the Detroit Commu-
nity Fund. The period of March
15 to May 15 has been set aside
for the purpose of acquainting the
community with the agencies afilli-
ated with Community Fund.
Visitors will be greeted by the
board and staff members of the
Jewish Community Center and a
tour of the building will take place.
Guides will conduct the groups
through the building and explain
the various, diversified activities
which are taking place. The pro-
gram of activities for that after-
noon will include Hebrew classes,
stenography and typing classes,
arts and crafts group, puppetry,
stage costuming, dance classes,
handball games, Mothers' Club
meeting, citizenship class, music
and art classes and nursery school
program. The library, toyery and
game room will also be included
in the itinerary of the tour. The
;many club periodicals, Center News
publications and booklets of activi-
ties will also be on exhibit in addi-
tion to the work done by the junior
groups meeting at the Center. Af-
ter all the visitors will have toured
the building, Herman Jacobs, execu-
tive director of the Center, will
give a brief talk on the purposes
and general activities of the or-
ganization.
The community is invited to at-
tend this open house and acquaint
itself with the work of the Jewish
Community Center in the field of
education and recreation for young

The judges were Aaron Droock,
Joseph Sanders and Louis Weis-
enfeld. The decision went to
he Hillel Foundation team. This
debate was under the direction of
Louis H. Schostak, chairman of
t he cultural committee for Pisgah
Lodge.
Following this debate, Rabbi
Bernard Heller. of the Hillel
Foundation at Ann Arbor. gave
on interesting discourse, in which
h e stressed the necessity for co-
ncretion of the A. Z. A. and
Hillel Foundation and suggested
t hat a debate be made an an-
nual affair. Ile announced a
convention soon of the various
branches of youth movements
which will take place in Detroit.
T here will be round-table discus-
sions and sermons by Rabbi Leo
Franklin of Temple Beth El and
Rabbi A. M. Hershman of Shaarey
Zedek, on the topic of what a
college man can expect from re-
ligion.
A capacity audience attended
this meeting.
The next meeting of the lodge
will be held on Monday evening,
April 4. Past President Aaron
Rosenberg will talk on the charit-
able and philanthropic work of
the Order of Bnai Brith.
