Will Their Standard
of Living Endure?
All too often, the unexpected
death of the breadwinner means
that the standard of living to
which he has accustomed his fam-
ily and dependents will have to be radically revised. Most
families under the circumstances would have to come down
too suddenly to a lower standard of living. To guard against
this danger, the Great-West Life has worked out a practical
readjustment income plan. Let me give you full particulars—
you will be interested.
The 11th anniversary of the
Detroit Auxiliary and the 25th
anniversary of the Los Angeles
Sanatorium will be celebrated
with a concert and donor dinner
dance on Sunday. March 27. at
Lachar's new ball room, 3153
Cass Ave.
Rabbi Max Wohlgelernter of
Congregation Beth Tefilo Eman-
uel will be the principal speaker.
Samuel and Harry Bistritsky ,
eminent violinist and cellist, re-
spectively, members of the De-
troit Symphony Orchestra. Miss
Ruth Brotman, lyric coloratura
soprano. and other artists of note ,
will appear in the concert which
will start promptly at 3 p. M.
The dinner will follow the con-
cert and will conclude with a
dance, with music by • Union
orchestra.
More than 9,000 patients have
been treated free of charge by
the sanatorium in the quarter of
a century of its functioning,
among them 127 Detroiters since
the inception of the auxiliary.
Four institutions are combined
in the sanatorium, the sanator-
ium proper, in Duarte, the Ex-
Patients Home, the Children's
Clinic and the Adult Clinic in
Belvidere, Calif. The sanatorium
is now carrying on an expansion
program to facilitate those clam-
oring for admittance, among
them several Detroiters. There
is a DeSroit Pavilion. on the sana-
torium groups, which needs re-
modeling.
The proceeds of this affair will
be utilized to participate in this
expansion program, to further
maintain local patients, and to
properly represent Detroit Jewry
at the silver jubilee convention to
be held in June, in Los Angeles.
