these combined to make a platform
for the Nazis."
Speaking of the Balkanization
of Europe, Fodor writes:

"I don't know whether the Balkan,
took It ton much to heart that the no-
celled civilised countries were beginning
to imitate them, but suddenly realised
that their usual way of dealing with
nem and affairs was fearful: and the
Balkans began to de-llaikanise them-
pelves .1; rapidly ee they coed TodaY

an oppressed minority In Yugoslavia
than to be a Jew in Germany."

Fodor states that the economic
side of Mussolini's programs was
the creation of an Austrian Minis-
ter, Dr. Richard Schueller who
comes of a Jewish family the ma-
jority of whom have been bankers.
"Plot and Counterplot in Cen-
tral Europe" is packed full of sto-
ries that are current in Europe at
the expense of the dictators. One
story has references to the fact
that many Jews in Europe have
the name Hitler. The story goes:

"Some Austrian male were traveling
in railway train and In the compart-
ment there waa a Jew with a large
dark board and side-whisker ,. Every
time when a Nast left the compartment,
to emoko a cigarette In the corridor,
heraised hie hand before the Jew to
the Hitler salute and mold: 'Heil 111tler..
The Jew remained modestly seated In
hie corner. but when, for the umteenth
time. a Nast greeted him with 'Hell
Hitler.' he raid: •1 am deeply touched
by your attention. But hnw Aid you And
out that my name to Hitler?"

In his description of the Russian
situation Fodor points out that
"the Jews have been ousted from
most of the government positions,"
and in this connection he states:
"For ideological reasons it is just
as hard for Stalin to abandon his
anti-German policy as it is for
Hitler to change his anti-Russian
platform. But Stalin has already

done a great deal to eliminate men
and things which were the chief
stumbling-block in the eyes of the
German fanatics."
A story that best illustrates the
existing European situation as a
mad-house is related by Fodor as
