clubs and theaters with an unus-
ual surprise is promised.
The dinner dance is called for
8 p. m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the
Statler Hotel Grand Ballroom.
Mary Kahn, talented young De-
troit orchestra leader, will fur-
nish the music for dancing during
and after the dinner.
Tickets for the affair, at $4,
may be purchased from any of the
members of the ticket committee,
or from Mrs. Irving Hirschman,
chairman of the arrangements
committee.
Tickets for the younger mem-
bers of the Temple households and
for members of the Young Peo-
ple's Club may be purchased at
$2 a couple to be used for danc-
ing only from 10 until 1. These
may be purchased from Frank
Winton, Al Ressler or any mem-
ber of the board.
Numerous reservations have al-
ready been received and the mem-
bers of the various Temple or-
ganizations who are working on
the central committee are confi-
dent the affair will be even more
successful than the one held last
year. Mrs. Philip Bloomgarden,
President of the Temple Sisterhood,
and Mrs. Lawrence Friedman are
also assisting Mrs. Ilirschman on
the arrangements committee. Pub-
licity is being handled by Miss
Miriam Carver, assisted by Mrs.
Oscar Blumberg and Lee Fink.

Dexter Branch of Center
Forms Neighborhood
Council

Clubs in the Dexter neighbor-
hood and in the Dexter branch
of the Jewish Community Center,
11618 Dexter Blvd., have formed
themselves into a Neighborhood
Council. The Jewish Community
Center is attempting to extend its
services throughout the Dexter
area. Already 10 outside groups
have come in on the project and
more are being invited. The open-
ing affair was held on Saturday.
This "get-to-gether" dance at-
tracted a large group. Additional
activities are being planned, such
as tobogganing and skating par-
ties, inter-club debating and dra-
m a t i c tournaments, ping-pong,
billiard, chess and checker con-
tests. All groups in the Dexter
area interested in joining this
council call the Dexter Branch,
Townsend 8-1878, and ask for
Nathan Bean.

Center Players Produce Two
One-Act Plays

The Jewish Community Center
Players will make their dramatic
debut on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at
8:30 p. m., when they present
two one-act plays which have
been under the able direction of
Miss Regina Schiller. The plays
to be presented are "The Elig-
ible Mr. Bangs," and "Enter the
Hero," both of which are highly
amusing and entertaining. Ad-
minion will be free.
