Yugoslav Jews Fear Anti•Semitie
Measures
YUGOSLAVIA (WNS) — Fear-
ing that the imminent political
rapprochement between Germany
and Yugoslavia will lead to in-
creased anti-Semitism in Yugo-
slavia, the Federation of Jewish
Communities of Yugoslavia con-
vened an emergency session to
take measures to deal with the
situation.
Dr Friedrich Pops,
president of the Federation,
called attention to the fact that
the government has been dismiss-
ing Jewish officials and has ended
the Jewish hour on the govern-
ment radio program. These de-
velopments together with the fail-
tire
to reappoint Chief Rabbi
Isaac Alcalay to the senate and
the move to expel alien Jews are
causing serious concern, he isaid.
He also attacked the Revisionists
for their charges against the Zion-
ist Organization.
These allega-
tions, which accused the Zionists
of being Communists, of raising
fund:, for the Spanish Loyalists
and of smuggling money out of HANDLER WILL DISCUSS
