Synagogue on Thanksgiving Day
Miss Helene F. Alter, daughter
of Joseph Alter, was united in
marriage to Meyer W. Leib, son
of Joseph Leib, under a flower-
banked canopy of cybodium ferns
and white chrysanthemums. Rabbi
Moses Fischer officiated, assisted
by Cantor A. Anton Rosenfeld.
The bride was charming in a
Queen Anne period gown of white
moire, and her long tulle veil
was secured by a tiny cap tipped
with small ostrick curls. She
carried a sheaf of calla lillies.
Miss Bertha Schindler, gowned
in coronation rose taffeta, and
carrying American Beauty roses,
was maid of honor. Mrs. David
Schwartz, wearing royal blue
chiffon and carrying tea roses,
fulfilled the duties as matron of
honor, and the Misses Ethel Al-
ter, Vette Bernstein and Jean
Lasker acre bridesmaids, carry-
ing ribboned arm bouquets of
Sweetheart Roses.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and aunt,
Mrs. Sisler, and the bridegroom
by his father, and Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel W. Leib, his brother and
sister-in-law. Dr. George V. Leib,
brother of the groom, was best
man, while Oscar D. Berris • Sid-
ney Z. Leib and Lewis Sisler
acted as ushers.
"I Love You Truly" was sung
prior to the ceremony.
An out-of-town guest was the
bride's aunt, Mrs. Anna Mahler
of New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Leib are spending
their honeymoon in Chicago and
expect to return in about two
weeks.
