Program on Dec. 6

The Choral Group of the Music
Study Club will present a musical
program at the next monthly'
meeting of the Detroit section,
National Council of Jewish Wod
men, to be held Monday, Dec. 6, I
at 2:30 p. m., at Temple Beth El.
The group is directed by Charles
Frederic Morse.
The program will include the
"Andante Cantabile" from Tchai-
kowsky's Fifth Symphony with
piano and string accompaniment, I

soprano solo by Mrs. Jacob H.1
Schakne; and "Seraphic Song" by '
Anton Rubenstein with contralto
solo by Margaret Schueling Hoex-
ter. The last number is being
given by request. The string en-
semble is composed of Miss Sadie
Cooper, violinist; Ruth Krause
Van Nater, cellist, and Rosa Bas-
sin Stein, pianist and accompanist.
A social hour and tea will fol-
low the program. Mrs. David WI-
kus heads the program committee.
Mrs. Harold Smilay and her com-
mittee are in charge of the social
hour. Mrs. Maurice Klein will
preside.

Dance of Jr. J. N. F.

Morrey Shepherd, president of
the Jewish National Fund, Jrs.,
presided at a special meeting last
Friday evening.
Final arrangements were made
for the eighth annual dance to be
held at the Statler Hotel, on Jan.
23 and Jules Klein in person and
his orchestra will supply the mu-
sic.
The president chose the follow-
ing committee for the dance: Dave
Zeff, chairman of the dance; Mor-
rey Shepherd, advertising; Sam
Yagoda, program; Betty Gross,
tickets; Zelda Shepherd, publicity.
All clubs and organizations are
asked to keep Jan. 23 open.

on the S. S. Normandie to spend
a few weeks in London visiting
with her brother, Louis Kesler.
