Woman's Auxiliary of He-
brew Schools as a Moral
and Financial Factor in
the Educational System.

The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools, lends Ls
assistance to the United Hebrew
Schools, financially and morally.
Comprised of home 500 members,
its aim from a financial stand-
point, is to maintain the busses
which convey the children to and
from the various schools.
This is accomplished success-
fully by giving the annual donor
luncheon, which is attended by
several hundred women. The
gathering, considered one of the
most inspirational. of its kind is
addressed by a noted educator,
and the keynote is "Hebrew Edu-
cation."
In moral support its members
give unstintingly. They assist in
all undertakings of the' United
Hebrew Schools' administration.
During the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, the women are responsible
for a portion of the funds raised
by the United Hebrew Schools
division
Since its reorganization seven
years ago with Mrs. Maurice II.
Zackheim as its first president,
the Woman's Auxiliary has suc-
ceeded in bringing into its fold
scores of women to whom Hebrew
education was strange.
It is not difficult therefore to
vision for the future that as more
girls receive a Hebrew education,
there will never be lacking the
support that women can give to
the Hebrew Schools. The Wom-
an's Auxiliary urges mothers to
see that their daughters receive
the Ilebrew education that is so
easily available, thus providing
them with that which most moth-
ers of today had no opportunity
of obtaining.
The Woman's Auxiliary this
year, is headed by Mrs. Jack
Freedman as president, Mesdames
Henry Shapero, Charles Smith,
and Charles Robinson, vice-presi-
dents; Mrs. Wolf Kaplan, record-
ing secretary; Mrs. M. Dann, fi-
nancial secretary; Mrs. Louis To-
bin. corresponding secretary; Mrs.
Esther Solomon, assistant cor-
responding secretary; Mrs. Burt
Smokier, treasurer.
The sixth donor luncheon, of
which Mrs. Jack Tobin is chair-
man, will be held on Wednesday,
Jan. 26, at the Fort Wayne Hotel.
