THE ONLY ANGLO-JEWISH All Jewish News .All Jewish View: WITHOUT BIAS TR- Ek/ROY"' and Vol. XXXIX No. 17 POLISH JEW DIES IN NAZI CELL IN DANZIG High Court Confirms Death Sentence of Brest-Lit- ovsk Jew WARSAW (WNS)—Seemingly determined to better their August record when 350 anti-Jewish dis- turbances of one sort or another, an average of more than 10 a day, were recorded in various parts of Poland, anti-Semites of all etripes made the two days of Rosh Ha- ahonah and the day after the oc- casion for anti-Jewish excesses in 18 towns and cities. Reports in the Yiddish press here tell of attacks on Jews in Lodz, Opoczno, Nowo- miasto, Kulesz-Koscielny, Belso- Dodlaski, Czarnow, Tuzanka, Lore- na, Branczyce, Dlugoszioly, Permit- be, Czworka, Nalenczow, Grodno and Piatrikow. Warsaw was also the scene of holiday rioting. A wave of pogroms on Yom Kippur day further threw the Jewish population of Poland in a state of panic. The syna- gogu e at Cselads was stoned and many windows were brok- en. Jews from every part of Poland are flocking to Warsaw for shelter, and the situation Is becoming more serious daily. A new feature of the disturb- ances was the appearance of uni- formed detachments of the youth section of the National Camp of Unity, the new government party, in the role of Jew-baiters, and their collaboration with the Na- tional Democrats and National Radicals in assaults on Jews. The extension of the anti-Jewish boy- cott campaign to the larger cities was also evident as an anti-Jewish week was proclaimed in Grodno. Automobiles equipped with loud- speakers blaring anti-Jewish cries and loaded with uniformed Endeks and members of the National Camp of Unity who distributed leaflets calling for the boycott, raced through the streets. In Warsaw and Lublin pickets were posted in front of Jewish stores to take photographs of "Christian trai- tors.' The youth division of the Na- tional Camp of Unity, which is called the Union of the New Gen- eration, is offering its own solution of the Jewish problem with a three-point manifesto widely dis- tributed in Warsaw: The plan calls for mass evacuation of the Jews, the creation of a govern- ment agency to facilitate Jewish emigration, establishment of a joint commission of Poles and Jews to find territories for Jewish colonization, and a ban on Jewish emigrants taking money out of the country. "The Jews must realize that the sovereign Polish nation deprives them of the right to re- main in Poland because the vital interests of the Polish People con- flict with the interests of the Jew- bh people." the manifesto de- clares, me boldness of the Polish Endeks' anti-Jewish boycott campaign, which has now spread to Warsaw, reached a new high whe n anti-Semitic pickets s ta- tioned in front of Jewish shops to prevent the entry of Chris- tian customers m anhandled • number of prominent Poles just as Premier Skladkowski was passink by. Among the gilts from nun' Jews, the largest contribution came this week from Mr. and Mrs. Richard H.
