A Sefer Torah will be presented
to Congregation Bnai David, Elm-
hurst and 14th St., at 2 p. in. on
Sunday, Sept. 12, In tribute to the
memory of the late Mrs. Eva Stein-
berg.
Known for her charitable deeds,
Mrs. Steinberg, who was a pioneer
resident of Detroit, endeared her-
self to many in this community
during her lifetime by her devotion
to humanitarian causes and to re-
ligious institutions.
The public is invited to attend
the dedication services which will
be addressed by Rabbi Joshua S.
Sperka and by Prof. Morris Gitlin
of Bayonne, N. J., father-in-law
of one of the surviving daughters
of Mrs. Steinberg, Mrs. Charles

Book Review Opens
Home Relief Season

Mrs. Gertrude Oberstein, well
known for her fascinating book
reviews, will address the first
open meeting of this season of
the Home Relief Society with a
discussion of one of the most
talked of books of the year, "The
Outward Room," a psychological
study by Millen Brand. This meet-
ing will be held on 55 ednesday,
Sept. 8, at 1:30 p. m., at the home
of Mrs. R. Robert Kaltman, 2420
W. Boston Blvd. Mrs. Charles
Cornell, president, extends an in-
vitation to all members and
friends to attend this meeting.
Last Friday, Mrs. Arthur Gins-
burg of Atkinson Ave., general
chairman for the annual dinner
dance scheduled for Sunday. Oct.
24, at Hotel Statler, entertained
the members of the executive
board of the Home Relief Society
with a bridge luncheon, at which
time she announced that unusual
plans are being laid for this event.
