Rumors Persist That Separate Arab and Jewish
States Will Be Main Feature of the British
Body's Decision

LONDON. -- The report of the Royal Commis-
sion on Palestine, which met for many weeks in
Jerusalem and London under the chairmanship of
Earl Peel, was signed Wednesday night. Its con-
tents still are secret, but remain the subject of con-
fused and contradictory reports.
While dispatches from Jerusalem say that the
plan for the partition of Palestine between the Jews
and Arabs definitely has been abandoned, it is re-
ported that the establishment of separate Arab and
Jewish states will be found to be the main feature of
the report.
According to the Daily Telegraph it is contem-
plated that the Jewish state should border on the
Mediterraneon Sea, and that the Arab state should
be inland. All areas and territories, it is suggested,
roughly should bet equal. The difficulties of the
Arab position would be overcome the Telegraph
says, by "corridors leading to the ports of Haifa
and Jaffa.
The report is expected to be published early
in July, when under the League of Nations' mandate
it will have to be discussed in Geneva before its
adoption.
FORTY YEARS OF ZIONISM IN AMERICA
(CONCLUDED FROM PAGE ONE)
DR. MOSES GOMBERG
Dr. Moses Gomberg, professor
emeritus of chemistry of the Uni-
versity of Michigan, was awarded
the honorary degree of Doctor
of Law at commencement exer-
cises on Saturday.
The honorary degree of Master
o Arts was awarded to Norman
Bell Geddes, architectural de-
signer who was responsible for
the mammoth state upon which
wits erected the great spectacle
"The Eternal Road."
Isaacson Dies
. . . you've been calling on us about five
years now . . . and yet I don't believe
you've ever "sold" us anything. Nearly
every time you walk into this office you
have a real suggestion. Remember the
day you came in with a plan for fidelity
bonds on all our field men instead of just
the executives? I didn't agree with you
... but I wasn't looking far enough ahead
. . . and you were. As it turned out, you
were as right as rain. I remember, too,
when we put in our high pressure boilers.
You scarcely mentioned insurance, but in-
sisted that, now we had good boilers, the
main, thing was to keep them good boilers
by regular expert inspection .. . and you
told me why your company's engineers
were qualified for that job. After a while
we just came to depend on you. We'd
check your suggestion, find you were right
... Sure you got business from us, plenty
of it. But, It wasn't high-pressure sales-
manship that did it. It was just that you
knew your business . . . and our business.
I didn't always feel this way. Years ago
I thought an insurance agent just sold a
policy and collected his connuission. But
it's a lot more than that. You think for
your clients, and plan ahead and consider
what's best for them. 'f hat's more than
selling. And, I want you to know that we
know ... and that we appreciate it."
