TO WOMEN'S AUXILIARY, JEWISH HOME FOR AGED
By ANNE CAMPBELL
Once in this place, there were no bricks and stone
Fashioned into a dwelling for our old;
Only a vision somebody made known,
Only a dream our spirits could behold!
But there are women with kind hearts of gold
Who with their patient goodness can conspire
To mold life nearer to the soul's desire.
On Wednesday, June 2, the

These'women kindled in the hearts of men
A love for those who are less fortunate
Than their own parents are . . . With word and pen
They spread the news of the old people's fate . . .
Housed meanly, there was naught to compensate
For the too heavy burden of their yearn .. •
Their poverty and courage brought our tars.
These women were the daughters, the blest poor
No longer had . . . Theirs were the lovely hands
They long had missed . . . Now vsliently and sure
They bent their efforts to cement the bands
Of brotherhood ... Gravely they made demands,
And wealth responded . . . Generosity
Is evidenced in these high walls you see.
Now those we honor and hold ever dear—
The Jewish old—have found a worthy place
To spend their sunset years. The atmosphere
Is one of peace .. . Joy looks from every face.
Here life has meaning in a slower pace,
When prayers are said, and contemplation lies
In faces of old wives, in old men's eyes.

Arabs Reject Partition
JERUSALEM (WNS — Palcor
Agency)—Formal and official re-
jection of any program for the
partition df Palestine was ex-
pressed in a resolution adopted at
a meeting of the Arab Higher
Committee. The special session

ment that was made public fol-
lowing the discussion, the Arab
Higher Committee reiterated its
three demands, including the stop-
page of Jewish immigration. pro-
hibition of land sales and the es-
tablishment of a national govern-
ment. Referring to the possibili-
ties of partition, the statement of
the Arab Higher Committee de-
clares that "such a solution is un-
acceptable" and adds that the
Arabs of Palestine will insist upon
the complete fulfillment of the
demands 'submitted to the Royal
Commission. The Arab state-
ment also emphasized that Pales-
tine is a part of the surrounding
Arab countries.

Traveling?
Certainly, your personal effects are
"traveling"—at least some of them
—all the time. Even when they are
not traveling right along with you,
they are "away from home" at the
tailor's, the cleaner's, the furrier's, the
laundry, the country or golf club, etc.
Of course when you are away on a trip, whether
long or short, you especially need the protec-
tion of Personal Effects Insurance. This policy
covers all risks including fire theft, and trans-
portation hazards, wherever the belonging may
be when outside the premises of your perma-
nent residence, and not in storage.
Whether you are traveling or not, it
insures your personal effects away
from home. Compare thO value of the
contents of a single trunk or suit-case
with the cost of the annual policy.
Considering the broad, world-wide
protection given, the cost is no nomi-
nal that you cannot afford to be with-
out this coverage.
