The Jewish
People Need
PALESTINE

I OR hundreds of thousands of Jews, a physical, spiritual and

political center is being created in the Land of Israel ... During

the past four years, 164,267 Jews from many lands of oppression,

including Poland, Germany and Rumania, found refuge in Pal-

estine. Of this number, 34,493 were German Jews, and 59 per

cent of this total were men and women under the age of 30 ...

Among the German refugees who came to Palestine were 6,603

children under 17 . . . There are 203 Jewish colonies in Palestine

whose Jewish population now exceeds 410,000 . . . Hundreds of

thousands are waiting for the opportunity to be colonized there

on an equally honorable and dignified basis . . . The success of

the Allied Jewish Campaign, which contributes towards Pales-

tine's upbuilding, will serve not only to encourage the pioneers

who are now in Palestine, but will open new avenues of escape

into Palestine for many more who are now awaiting the oppor-

tunity and the privilege to make Palestine their home . . . The

Palestinian challenge is a test for the Jews of the world . . . We

call upon you to meet this test honorably.
