instructor at Temple Beth El Col-
lege as well as rabbi of the Pontiac
congregation, will speak on "The
Significance of the Occupational
Distribution of Jews in the United
States."
At its last regular meeting,
Avukah heard Herman Jacobs,
executive director of the Jewish
Community Center, on the subject
"Zionism and American Youth."
The study groups which feature
the re-organization of Avukah are
coming up to all expectations, ac-
cording to Akivah Drasnin, vice-
president of Avukah and director
of the study groups. The advanced
Hebrew study group under the
leadership of Lottie Wainger and
Akivah Drasnin has begun its
regularly scheduled meetings, the
first of which was held on Thurs-
day, April 22, at the home of
Sophie Nisenbaum. The other
groups for the study of current
events, Jewish history, and a group
that is beginning.the study of He-
brew. Other groups which will be
organized in the near future are
groups for the study of Hebrew
music and literature.
On Saturday evening, April 17,
under the leadership of Sarah
Slutzky and Ethel Shur, Avukah
held a wienie roast.
The coming meeting will be open
to all college students and their
friends.

and Daughter Luncheon

The annual Mothers and Daugh-
ters luncheon sponsored by the
Sisterhood of Congregation Shea-
rey Zedek will be held on Sunday,
Maly 9, in the social hall of the
synagogue, at 12:30 p. m.
