Fines?* in ballroom dancing is
being demonstrated this week at
Webster Hall Cocktail Grill by
Castaine and Barry, an interna-

played in London, at the Scala
in Berlin and at the Casino de Is

and his swingsters set a fast pace
for dancing, with Bernice Cullen,
Taney Palmer and Ralph Fisher
alternating in the spotlight with
special songs.

swinger of hot songs, are both
making their first Detroit appear-

week. Beekman has a musical
world tour with songs of far
lands, and a melange of popular
tunes. Miss Gilbert opened Fri-

Week's Attractions
at Center Theater
The Center Theater. located on
Woodward, near the Boulevard,
offers the following movies as its
new group of screen attractions:
On Friday, Saturday and Sun-
day, Feb. 19, g0 and 21, Freddie
Bartholomew, Jackie Cooper and
Jan Hunter will appear in "The
Devil Is a Sissy" together with
Gene Raymond and Ann Sothern
in "Walking on Air."
"His Brother's Wife," tarring
Robert Taylor and Barbara Stan-
wyck will be shown on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurs-
day, Feb. 22, 23, 24 and 25. The
second attraction will be Johnny
Weiasmuller and Maureen O'Sul-
livan in "Tarzan Escapee."
How Freddie Bartholomew, re-
cently returned from his divorced
English mother to his father in
New York, finally earns the af-
fections and respect of his east
side school chums, proves to be
both touching and hilarious in
"The Devil Is • Sissy." The es-
capades and tragedies experienced
by those who live on the "other
side of the track" is made vital
and interesting in this picture.
Frances Gordon, beautiful
blonde singer making her Detroit
debut at Saks Cafe. comes direct-
ly from several weeks at the Lido,
Montreal's smart night spot, and
previously was on tour with An-
