Theater
The Cinema Theater, 68 East
Columbia, just off Woodward, is
presenting an outstanding program
starting Friday, Feb. 12. "Spain
in Flames," a feature-length of-
ficial picture of the civil war in
Spain; and "Millions of Us," la-
bor news-reel featurette, make up
this unusual program.
"Spain in Flames," depicts the
fight for freedom in present-day
Spain, with an introduction by
the Spanish ambassador, Fernan-
do de Los Rios. The film swings
into action with shots made by
camera men of the Spanish goy-
ernment, then others by Sovie
Russia's photographers. Termed
by many as the most vital docu-
ment ever screened, the New York
Herald-Tribune writes: "It is pow-
erful, enormously effective and
convincing."

STAGE AN D SCREEN
Countess Judith Listowel, who
speaks at the Detroit Town Hall
in the Fisher Theater Wednesday
morning, Feb. 17, at 11 o'clock,
planned on her American lecture
tour to discuss the changes in
England under King Edward VIII.
The world's most dramatic ro-
mance intervened to throw an Em-
pire into confusion and a new king
into office. Countess Listowel's sub-
ject remains the same, "The New
Reign in England," but events
have dynamited the material into
significant new forms.
A gifted speaker as well as a
vigorous writer, Countess Listowel
is known as one of the outstanding
woman lecturers of today.
Tickets are on sale now at Grin-
nell's, also Monday to Wednesday
before the lecture at the Fisher
Theater.
