i• Orchestra.
Molinari will conduct
I seven concerts, four Thursday
night subscription programs and
three popular-piked Saturday
night offerings. His temporary

reign over the Detroit Symphony
will be the longest of any of the
guest conductors for the present

season.
Noted for his brilliant success
as an orchestra conductor, Molin-
ari, last year, was one of the most
talked-of-musicians to appear with
the orchestra. His highly indivi-
dual manner of presenting an or-
chestra concert resulted in a sold-
out house for nearly every per-
fo•mance. On several occasions
hundred of persons had to be
turned away.

The beautifully transformed
Center Theater, which reopened
Friday, Dec. 25, presents on the
screen Sunday. Monday and Tues-
day the famous novel, "Anthony
Adverse," featuring Frederic
March, Olivia Dellaviland, Claude
Rains and Anita Louise. This pic-
ture has had very favorable com-
ment and criticism throughout the
country and is considered one of
the outstanding pictures of the
year.
As a second feature, there will
be shown Patsy Kelly in her first
starring roll, "Kelly the Second."
Miss Kelly, who is recognized as
one of the leading commediennes
of the screen, and she portrays her
part brilliantly with a laugh a
minute, assisted by Guinn Wil-
liams, Pert Kelton and Charlie
Chase.

Comedy Dec. 28

Plans are under way for the
Jewish Community Center's sec-
ond annual musical comedy. Try-
outs for the dancing chorus and
for specialty dances will be held
on Monday, Dec. 28, at 9 p. m.
Tryouts for dramatic and singing
roles will be announced within ■
week.
Because of the unexpected in-
tercet shown in the production
last year it is planned this year
to hold the show for two nights
instead of one. The probable date
for production will be Starch 13
and 14 on Saturday and Sunday
nights.
