A meeting of the North Wood-
ward branch of the Jewish Worn-
en's European Welfare Organiza-
tion was held at the home of Mrs.
Maurice Silverstone of Gladstone
Ave., Nov. 9. Plans were made for
the annual memorial luncheon
which will be held Monday, Nov.
30, at 12:30 p. m., at Lacher's.
Mrs. Anna Goldberg, To. 8-7815,
is chairman, and Mrs. Albert Kurz-
mann, Iiogarth 4767, is co-chair-
man. This traditional event will
be solemnized by Rabbi I. Stoll-
man who will make the El Molei
Rachamim. The secretary, Mrs. A.
B. Knoppow, Euclid 27624,
accepts the names of those to be
honored. Make reservations early
by calling the chairman, as reserv-
ations are limited. The hostesses
thus far are Mrs. M. Landsberg,

Education League's
New Meeting Place
Due to an increase in member-
ship. the Youth Education League
has found it inconvenient to con-
tinue meeting at the homes of
members. Arrangements have
been made to meet every second
and fourth Monday of the month,
at the Weiss Memorial Library of
Congregation Bnai Moshe.
Mrs. Edith A. Stern is presi-
dent of the society.
At the last meeting, which was
held on Nov. 9, it was decided
that the league give a luncheon
bridge on Dec. 15, at the Bnai
Moshe Synagogue. Further de-
tails regarding this affair will be

caded velvet gown and was at-

matrons of honor. The ushers

took place at the Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue on Sunday, Oct. 25,
The marriage service was read
by Rabbi A. M. Hershman and
Rabbi Joshua Sperka.
The bride was lovely in a gown
of ivory satin made on a redin-
gote style with rosepointe lace
insertions in and around the four-
and-a-half-yard train, which was
part of the jacket. The Mary of
Scotland collar and sleeves were
also of rosepointe lace. The veil
fell from an ivory satin braid
brown with a lace cap. She car-
vied white roses and lillies of the
valley.
The bride's sister, Eve Greer,
was maid of honor. The brides-
maids were Ida Ed!, Anne Fisher,
Gertrude Miller, Sarah Goldberg,
Vera Sussman and Betty Field,
the latter two of Toronto. Alor-
ris Citrin serxed as best man. The
ushers were Ben Bader. Sans
Sweet, Harry Greer, Morris Wein-
stein, Louis Rosenblum, Harry
Eickler of Toronto.
The poling couple took a motor
trip through the East and Can-
ada. For going away the bride
wore a kelley green suit trimmed
in blue fox.

Jewish men and women are in-
vited to join the evening classes
in English and citizenship, which
are being conducted at Central
High School, Tuxedo and Lin-
wood, on Monday and Wednesday
evenings from 7 to 9 o'clock.
Instruction in all these classes
is offered free.
Lessons are given in speaking,
reading and writing the English
language. Those who wish to
Improve their reading and writ-
ing are urged to attend the
classes and to work for eighth
grade diplomas. The citizenship
class helps men and women to
prepare for their final examine-
tins at court, and citizenship ter-
tifificates are given to all those
who complete the course.
Those wishing to enroll in
these classes are asked to regis-
ter at once in room 105 at Cen-
tral High School.
