At a beautiful and impressive
wedding ceremony on Sunday,
Nov. 1, Miss Rose Yolles of Bur-
lingame Ave., became the bride
of Louis Gelfand of McQuade Ave.
The bride wore a gown of ivory
lace and satin with a train. Her
long tulle veil was held in place
by a lace Juliet cap the same as
that of the gown. She carried
a bouquet of orchids, roses and
tittles of the valley.
The matron of honor was the
bride's sister, Mrs. Joseph A.
Schoen of New York City, the
former Miss Nettle Yolles. Mrs.
Schoen wore a gown of orchid
crystal cut velvet and carried tal-
isman roses.
The bride's mother wore a gown
of black crepe with a cape of sil-
ver sequins. The groom's mother
was in coronation blue velvet.
Both Mrs. Yolles and Mrs. Gelfand
wore shoulder corsages of gar-
denias.
The bridesmaids were Nettie
Wolk, Rose Gelfand, Lillian Cohen
and Revs Wolfe. They wore pic-
turesque gowns of rose moire and
carried yellow roses.
Sol Yolles, the bride's brother,
was best man, and the ushers were
Dr. Joseph A. Schoen of New York
City, Alex Wolk, Irving Rosen and
Sam Bale,
Following the ceremony which
was held at the Shaarey Zedek,
the guests proceeded to the 'mild
hall where dinner was served for
the immediate family and close
friends.
The out-of-town guests were Dr.
and Mrs. Joseph A. Schoen of New
York City, Mrs. M. Blacker of
Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. B. Ruby of
New York City.

Warning Against Collector
Who Solicits Under
False Pretenses
A well-dressed young man de-
scribed as blonde, short and stout
and giving the name of Post is re-
ported as soliciting funds on the
ground of his being a German-
Jewish refugee who needs a sum
of money in order to complete his
medical studies. It is reported that
this young man is misrepresenting
the names of Jewish organizations
and local Jewish leaders.
A number of the men whose
names he Is reported to be misus-
ing asked the Chronicle to issue
this warning to the community
against this man and not to permit
him to dupe people into giving him
funds under such false pretenses.

Proposal from London
To the tune of his hit "Is It
True What They Say About
Dixie?" Sammy Lerner, former
Detroiter who made good in the
musical world, crooned his "will
you" from England over the
transatlantic phone to Miss
Dorothy Davis of New York.
The song proved to be a roman-
tic success as well as a financial
one for Mr. Lerner. The couple
were united in marriage in Lon-
don, England, on Oct. 24.
At present Mr. Lerner is un-
der contract to write music for
the films produced by British-
Gaumont Corp. His was the In-
spiration behind the music of
the musical comedy hit now
showing In London, `Transat-
lantic Rhythm," starring Lope
Velez, Lou Holtz and others.

At its annual past grand's din-
ner held Sunday evening, Nov. 1,
at its Temple, Palestine Lodge
celebrated its tenth anniversary at
a dinner dance.
This lodge received its Charter
from the Grand Lodge of the State
of Michigan on July 23, 1926,
