Mr. Zackai stated upon his ar-
rival here that investments in
Palestine made by Jews during the
past 15 years are secure and that
Jews have not only gained by the
reconstructional work but have
been saved as a result of their
Palestine investments.
Coming here with the endorse-
ment of leaders in this country as
well as in Palestine, including
Rabbi Saul Silber, Dr. A. Abromo-
vitz and Max Shulman of Chicago,
Mr. Zackai is enlisting the sup-
port of many Detroit Jews for the
Union Bank of Palestine, who are
buying shares in it.
The Union Bank aims at pro-
moting the economic stability of
middle class and small business
men and assisting immigrants in
this class. The bank provides
credit facilities for the small mer-
chant, finances the construction of
small properties and provides
credit for immigrants.

lished in 1920, the second in 1924,

ent book, entitled "Exophthalmic
Goiter and Its Medical Treat.
meat," is published by the C. V.
Mosby Co., St. Louis, and is the
most complete treatise on the sub-
ject yet published.
Exophthalmic goiter (otherwise
known in English sneaking coun-
tries as Graves' disease) to a
malady peculiar to civilized man.
As in the case of diabetes. it has
a special predilection for the Jew-
ish people. Because of the in-
creasing complexity , and tensity
of existence, the disease is be-
coming more prevalent than ever
before. Dr. Bram 's new book is
intended
for physicians and
teaches them to treat not merely
the disease but the patient as a
whole, on the principle that the
malady developer because of the
singular constitutional make-up
of the individual. Therefore oper-
ation in this disease is seldom re-
quired. Dr. Bram points out that
treatment of the patient as •
whole not only enhances early re-
covery but confers a degree of
immunity against future symp-
toms, thus rendering cure per-
manent.
