Item* lit* El Notts Conclave of Young Israel Nov. 26-29 DAVID I. BERRIS invitation. Delegations from all branches of the mid-western States and Canada, and the executive of the National Council of Young Israel will come to Detroit, where the first Mid-Western convention was held five years ago. The convention committee headed by David I. Berrls, a past president of the local organization, is preparing a program to be of interest not only to the orthodox Jew, but to the entire Jewish com- munity. The committee is espe- cially aiming to reach the youth, and through the program of the convention bring about a greater understanding of the idealism of traditional Judaism, to acquaint the youth with the necessity and importance of Jewish education, which Is the primary function of the Young Israel movement. The extension courses by the national organization, under the guidance of the deans of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Yeshivah and Yeshivah College last year at- tracted thousands of Jewish young men and women throughout the country, and the development and spreading of these courses in Jew- ish studies in mid-western states will be stressed at the convention. The program will also stress the necessity and importance of unity in orthodox ranks, and the accomplishment of Young Israel in this respect. It is the hope of the committee to make it clear through the convention that Young PROFITS or REGRETS Boy now at bottom or wait am/ buy at lop.
