Neugarten Sunshine Club
Open Meeting on Sept. 21
An open meeting w ill mark the
beginning of the season's activi-
ties by the Neugarten Sunshine
Club. This will be held on Monday,
Sept. 21, at 1:30 p. m., at the
Jewish Community Center, Wood-
ward and Holbrook. Mrs. Charles
H. Aller, in charge of the pro-
gram for this meeting, has ar-
ranged for a gala fashion show,
and in addition there will be a
short talk by Mrs. Fred Cross.
Members are urged to bring their
friends.
As usual, refreshments will be
served, the following acting as
hostesses: Mrs. Arthur Gottesman,
Mrs. Frank Berman, Mrs. Harry
Irvine Levy, Mrs. Max Michael-

Some of the best-known folk-tales
of medieval Europe are either of
Jewish origin or have a good deal
of Jewish ingredients, Prof. Louis
Ginsberg, of the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary of America, declared
in ■ paper read at the Harvard
tercentenary exercises Review-
ing the influence of Babylonia,
Persia and Greece on Jewish folk-
lore, Prof. Ginsberg said that
"more important than the influ-
ence of fcn.lgn folklore on Jewish
legendary lore is that exercised
by the latter upon the biblical
legends of Christians and
