They praise the "Red-baiting" of William Randolph Hearst and the fine work that Hitler has done in Germany. These groups propose (and they are doing it) to educate the coun- try in anti-Semitism. They want to defeat the New Deal because it is a "Jew-Deal," they say. Seeking a Solution They cannot be ignored. They cannot he laughed out of exist- ence. Ridicule may help to restrain them but it is not a sufficient in- strument for their destruction. It is not nut ioeient to say that they are erratic, fanatical and pshchopathic. The same thing was said of Hitler in Germany before he came to power. But what shall we do? you ask. Ah, that is the rub; what wouldn't modern civilization give for an answer to this problem of racial hatred and religious bigotry. But who has the answer? Not 1. Troop Reinforcements A third clash between British troops and Arabs near Nazareth started when a military patrol was suddenly attacked from ambush after dark. Troop reinforcements supplied with machine guns kept up a steady barrage during the night, with an undetermined num- ber of casualties. Editorials appearing in the Pal- estine press indicate that the Jew- ish population welcomes the an- nouncement of stronger military measures to end the disorders, while the Arabs are divided in their comments, some urging the Arab leaders to accept the chal- lenge involved in the Colonial Office declaration of firmer policy. Two Laborers Killed JERUSALEM (WNS - Palcor Agency)—The toll of Jewish dead from Arab attacks during the current disorders was raised to 81 when Zecharia Yefet Abdar, 37, and David Malichi, 35, Yem- enite plantation laborers, were shot to death from ambush while working at night on an irrigation project in the Lurie orange grove near Ramleh.
