Joseph Mazer, who is a candi-
date for Congress on the Republi-
can Ticket in the 15th Congres-
sional District, will be no strang-
er to the nation's capitol if he is
sent to Washington at the com-
ing election. Before entering the
practice of law Mr. Mazer's ex-
tensive business interests fre-
quently called him to the na-
tion's capitol at Washington, D.
C., as well as to Paris, London
and other European capitols.
Mr. Mazer had the distinction
of being selected from a list of
eminent and distinguished men
from all over the United States
by the Watch Case and Watch
Movement Companies of Amer-
ica, and the American National
Jewelers Association to prepare,
present and urge before Congress
the passage of a national bill
(later known an the "Owen
Goecke Bill"), which had for its
object the elimination of fraudu-
lent stamping.
Mr. Mazer's friends and asso-
ciates believe him to be eminent-
ly qualified by education, exten-
sive business experience and legal
training to effectively and ener-
getically deal with the problems
of national and, world-wide im-
portance, which will cone before
the next Congress.

The Center Theater, 6540
Woodward Ave., at Grand Blvd.,
is always cooled by modern elec-
tric refrigeration. Free parking
service is offered.
This Friday, Saturday and Sun-
day, the features are: Miriam
Hopkins, Merle Oberon and Joel
McCrea in "These Three," also
Phil Regan, Walter C. Kelly and
Evelyn Knapp in "Laughing Irish
Eyes," plus a color cartoon.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday the features will
be: Return engagement of that
outstanding musical hit of 1935,
"Naughty Marietta," with Jean-
ette MacDonald and Nelson
Eddy; Madeleine Carrel and Geo.
Brent in "The Case Against Mrs.
Ames," plus a color cartoon.
Offering all three stars the act-
ing opportunities of their lives,
brilliantly concocted by Lillian
Hellman, famous Broadway play-
wright, magnificently produced
and expertly directed by William
Wyler, "These Three" holds its
audience breathless from the
opening shot to the final fadeout.
It boasts something new to film
fans in dramatic situations, knit
together with a skill that results
in smart-paced, smooth and un-
forgettable entertainment. And

Fred MacMurray, Jack Oakie, Jean

showing at the Michigan Theater,
while Eleanor Holm Jarrett, Olym-

stage show that includes the
Twentieth Century Dance Revue,
