This is the fourth year since the
first camp of the Detroit branch
of the Hashomer liatsair organi-
zation, Zionist youth movement,
was established. It marks the
ninth year since the first camp of
the American movement was insti-
tuted at Shadow Lake, N. Y. Forty
attended that camp in 1928, but in
1935, 1,200 boys and girls at 12
camps throughout the United
States and Canada attended the
camps. This year 2,000 are ex-
pected at 15 camps, including five
leader's camps.
The continued growth of Hash-
omen liatzair camps testifies to the
deep hold that Palestine and Jew-
ish scouting have taken upon
American Jewish youth. Founded
upon the co-operative spirit of
modern Pioneering Palestine, these
camps have brought vacations

EHRLICH LAUDS GENEROSITY OF
DONORS TO POLISH RELIEF FUND
Joseph H. Ehrlich, treasurer of the Polish-Jew-
ish relief drive now being conducted in Detroit, this
week expressed satisfaction with the liberal man-
ner in which local Jews are responding to the plea
of the Detroit branch of the American Committee
Appeal for Relief of Jews in Poland.
Mr. Ehrlich states that he has received many
unsolicitated contributions, many of them represent.
ing sacrifices on the part of the donors. He espe-
cially thanks the person who anonymously sent a
dollar bill wrapped in a piece of newspaper.
