from numerous sections of the
country ‘f6r on extension of time
in the contest for the best one act
plays of social Significance, the
Young Circle League, labor fra-
ternal youth organization, upon-
boring the contest has consented
to an extension of the dosing
date to September 1. Originally it
was set for June 1.
The purpose of the contest, ac-
cording to Y. Murray Goldman,
acting national director, is to
stimulate and encourage the writ-
ing of good one-act plays for
labor dramatic groups. Special
consideration will be given to
plays dealing with the Jewish so-
cial scene in America.
The prizes to be awarded are
First, $100, plus presentation and
possible, publication; second, $50,
presentation and possible publica-
tion; third, presentation only. The
judges are Alfred Kreymborg,
David Pinsky, and Mark Schweid.
Manuscripts should be sent to
the National Office. Young Circle

Commons Hears Charge Italians
Broadcasting Anti-English Talks
LONDON. - (WNS-Palcor
Agency)-A charge that anti-
British propaganda is being cir-
culated among the inhabitants of
India and Palestine from Italian
broadcasting stations was made
in the House of Commons by
Commander 0. Locker-Lampoon,
Conservative, who asked that the
Foreign Secretary make repre-
sentations to the Italian Govern-
ment. Anthony Eden informed
the Commander that the position
was being carefully watched and
that representations had recently
been made to the Italian Govern-
ment regarding anti-British broad-
casts from Italian stations.

of May. The directors of the Chil-
dren's Home give a party each
month to all those having birth-
days during the month and the
auxiliary presents birthday gifts.
Mrs. Pauline Kutzen donated a
singing canary and cage to the
children while Mrs. Anthony
Deutsch presented a wall hanging
to the Home.
Mrs. H. Rosman has offered dry
cleating services gratis, to the
Children's Home, through Mr. Ros-
man of the Famous Cleaners and
Dyers.
