Music Study Club
Annual Tea June 2

The Music Study Club of De-
troit will hold its annual tea on
Tuesday, June 2, at 2:30, at the
Book-Cadillac Hotel.
The Music Study Club Choral,
which has received the commenda-
tion of many critics, will perform
again. Mrs. Jacob H. Schakne,
known for the fine quality of her
voice, will render several solos.
Mrs. Walter Field, an able drama-
tist, will do a portion of "Pygma-
lion." The Brown Twins, do's-
pianists, will play.
The Music Study Club is now
sponsoring outside talent, and
Esther and Besse Brown, twin
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Nat
Brown of Windsor, are among the
first to be presented. While they
are individual in their own right
as pianists, their repertoire con-
sists in greater part of the music
literature written for two pianos,
extending from the older classics
to the modern compositions. One
never thinks of playing without
the other, and if only one piano
is available, they can spend hours
playing duets. They have studied
with Bendetson Netzorg for more
than six years and specialized in
piano-duo work. In 1933, Esther
and Besse, at the age of 15, made
their radio debut on the coast-to-
coast network of the Canadian
Radio Commission. They have had
numerous engagements with this
network Since. This season they
have appeared as guest artists
with the Chrysler Male Chorus,
and they have been gust soloists
with the Detroit Symphony So-
ciety.
Tickets for the Music Study
Club annual June tea are on sale
now and may be procured at the
door on June 2.
