Cantors' Association and Other Groups Join M the

Effort to Provide Means for Saving Life
of Cantor Mogill's Son

A committee representing the Cantors' Association of
Detroit, as well as a number of other groups, this week or-
ganized to raise a sum of money with which to finance efforts
to save the life of George Mogill, son of Cantor and Mrs.
Samuel Mogill, of 533 Hague Ave., who is in serious condi-
tion as a result of a piece of bridge work having lodged in
his oesophagus.
A committee, headed by Cantor A. A. Rosenfeld, has
arranged for a concert to be held on Sunday evening, May 24,
at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, for the purpose of raising
the necessary sum of. $1,000 to finance medical efforts in
the boy's behalf.
The boy was rushed to Philadelphia on Tuesday evening
in order to be placed Under the immediate care of Dr. Che-
valier Jackson, at Temple University Hospital. He was ac-
companied on the trip by Dr. A. N. Mittelman, a special nurse,
and his parents.
At the concert on Sunday evening the participating ar-
tists will be all the cantors of Detroit, members of the Ilalevy
liazomir Singing Society, Hershel Leib of the Fox Theater
Orchestra, Emma Lazaroff Scheyer, and Rose Bassin, who
will be the piano accompanists. William Gayman will direct
the cantor's portion of the program. Sam Jack Kaufman of
the Fox will contribute to the program.
Others who win participate in the program will include
Cantor J. H. Sonenklar of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, Hy-
man Cohen, and other local cantors and soloists.
In addition to the cantors, the committee in charge of
this concert has the cooperation of Hyman Altman and Harry
Weinberg of the Jewish Radio Hours and the local press.
An appeal is made by the committee in charge to all
Detroit residents who desire to join in the effort to save the
life of George Mogill, to purchase tickets for the concert
through Cantor A. A. Rosenfeld at 3272 Monterey Ave.,

Detroit Jews are called upon to aid this relief effort.
