KLUNOVER ADDRESSES
LOCAL SCOUT LEADERS

JEWISH WAR VETERANS' UNIT FORMED HERE

At the last monthly meeting of
the LaSalle District, on April 29,
which was in form of a dinner at-
tended by Scout officials and lead-
ers of the city and district, the
principal speaker of the evening
was Alfred A. Klunover, who
spoke on the topic "Outdoor Pro -
gram of a Scout Troop."
In his address Mr. Klunover
touched the subject of health and
safety and the Scoutmaster's re-
sponsibility towards the boys. Ile
stressed upon cleanliness and sani-
tation of food and clothing; puri-
fication and caution regarding
drinking water; medical examina-
tion of Scouts and Leaders be-
fore attending camp. He cau-
tioned the leaders of their legal
and personal responsibility when
going to and from camps.
Mr. Klunover's address was well
received. He was requested to
prepare copies of it for future
reference for certain leaders of
the district. The speaker has been
active in scouting work since
1912, having been a member of
the first Jewish Scout Troop No.
23, then meeting at the Hannah
Shloss Building on High Street.
He has been active in the LaSalle
District for upwards of five years.
