of local organizations for work in
the Allied Jewish Campaign, many
ardent and untiring workers have
been uncovered. Among the most
successful campaigners last year,
who are already repeating their
triumph this year, is the insepar-
able team of Nathan Yaffe and
henry Lapides.
Lapides and Yaffe have this year
already solicited for the pre-cam-
pain division, for team 9 in divi-
sion E and for team 8 in division
H. As this issue goes to press,
they have already covered 110 of
the 118 slips assigned to them, and
have received increases of 106 per
cent on pledges of last year, in

Dinner Committee

The Detroit chapter of Hades-
sah will have a strawberry festival
at its annual meeting Tuesday,
May 12, at 1:15 p. m., at the Jew-
ish Community Center, Woodward
and Holbrook.
The festival will be a compli-
mentary dessert luncheon. All
members are invited and are urged
to bring their friends who are in-
terested in joining the organiza-
tion at this time. New members
paying their dues now will be con-
sidered in good standing until Oc-
tober, 1937.
The program will include the
presentation of a comedy, based
upon "Right About Faces,"' by
Howard Reed, to be given by the
Hadassah Dramatic Group under
the direction of Mrs. Walter Lich-
tenfeld Field.
The comedy relates how two old
Iladassah members reconcile a 10-
year quarrel while preparing for
the annual Hadassah banquet.
Featured in the play will be Mrs.
Harry Goldberg, Mrs. Theodore
Roth, Mrs. Harry Kohn, Mrs. Mur-
ray Jackman, Mrs. Harry Gross-
man, Mrs. John Frazer, Mrs. I.
Fredland.
The festival is being arranged
by Mrs. William B. Isenberg, Mrs.
Simon Sketzer and Mrs. Herman
Wetsman. They will be assisted by
Mrs. Ben Fishman, Mrs. Tobias

Donald, former High Commission-

many, who spoke on "Latter - Day
Exiles"; Rabbi Milton Steinberg
spoke on the "Causes of Group
Prejudice."
A former Detroiter, Beth Levin

and she is at present active in the
Women's Division of the Ameri-
can Jewish Congress, serving as
its vice-president and co-chair-
man of the speaker's bureau. Mrs.
Siegal has for the past three sea-

Young Men's Jewish Association
will meet for the last time this
season next Sunday afternoon at
the Barium Hotel. This meeting
will be for the purpose of holding
the election of officers for the next
administration.
Baseball in the Y.M.J.A. will be
as follows: Four teams will com-
pose the Y.M.J.A. indoor baseball
league and the best players of
those teams will be chosen to play
on the Y.MJ.A. representative
team which will play any indoor
baseball team in the city.
When Dr. Jack Jackman was

Service Activities" as his topic,
Fred M. Butzel will lead the next
forum of the discussion group of
the Young People's Temple Club
on Sunday afternoon, May 17, at
3:30. This meeting, which will be
the last one of the year, will climax
the activities of the discussion
group, both because of the inher-
ent interest of the topic and the
importance of the speaker.
Mr. Butzel who is chairman of
the Detroit Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, is thoroughly acquainted
with all social welfare projects in
the community, and after he has
described them, will open the meet-
ing to questions and discussion.

Sholem Aleichem
Schools Observe
10th Anniversary

The 10th anniversary of the
Sholem Aleichem Folk Institute
will be observed for an entire week
beginning on May 24 and ending
on May 30. Special features are
planned for this celebration, and
the various local societies are
called upon to send delegates to
participate in the festivities.
A cultural conference arranged
by the schools will be held begin-
ning with Sunday morning, May
10, at 10:30 o'clock, at the Dexter
school, 11718 Dexter Blvd. Mem-
bers of educational committees of
various organizations have been
invited to participate.
The jubilee concert of the schools
will be held on May 24. The guest
speaker will be Dr. E. Naks. Plays
by the Thealeague will be fee-
