New Epstein Baking Store Opens This Saturday
Zedakah's Theater 1To Direct Music
On Dexter and Glynn Court, Marking New Chapter
Party Next Monday at Seder Service
in Mount Clemens
In History of a Well Known Detroit Institution Mesdames Nate Gersuk, Charles ),

When the curtain rises Satur-
day, March 21, on the new Epstein
Baking store at the corner of Dex-
ter Blvd. and Glynn Court, another
chapter finds its way into the an-
nals of an institution that has be-
come an integral part of the com-
munity fabric, and an important
one.
Founded 17 years ago, the Ep-
stein Baking Co., began business
on Hastings St., the center, at
that time, of the Jewish population
of Detroit. With the expansion of
the city to the North, and the shift-
ing of the center of the Jewish
community to beyond Grand Blvd.,
the Epstein Baking go, followed
its clientele. Eight years ago, the
store at 12131 Linwood was open-
ed. Four years ago, the unit at
3142 Fenkell.
Years-of Service
Always keyed to give a greater
measure of service tb its custom-
ers, the Epstein Baking Co.'made
it a point to not only turn out the
finest product in quality that high
grade materials, skilfull bakers
and the latest developments in sci-
entific baking machinery made pos-
sible—but to bring those products
to the customer.
The move to Dexter at !Glynn
Court is the realization of an am-
bition to be "right around, the cor-
ner from those whom we serve" as

ADDRESSES
DETROIT ZIONISTS

Membership Drive Now in
Progress; J. H. Ehr-
lich is Chairman

An enthusiastic audience re-
tained Rabbi Leon 1. Feuer for
an hour and a half after his ad-
dress before the Zionist Organ-
ization of Detroit on Tuesday eve-
ning, at the Shaarey Zedek, and
engaged him in a discussion of
current Zionist problems.
In a brilliant address in which
he oultined the present trends in
Jewish life, and the importance
of the Zionist effort for the Jews
of America, Rabbi Feuer declar-
ed that Palestine cannot exist
without the Diaspora, just as the
Diaspora cannot exist without
Palestine.
Rabbi Feuer urged that Zionists
should take part in every impor-
tant Jewish movement, and that
an effort should be made to make
Zionism the ,dominant cause in
Jewish life.
Dr. Harry E. August, chairman
of the program committee of the
Zionist Organization of Detroit,
presided at the meeting.
A report was submitted by
Charles Rosenblatt, director of
Young Judaea.
A membership drive is now in
progress under the chairmanship
of Joseph H. Ehrlich, who hopes
to increase the ranks of the Zion-
ist Organization of Detroit to
1,000 members. •
