HADASSAH TO STAGE
PURIM PLAY MARCH 15
On Sunday. afternoon, March 16,
members of Senior Iladassah, the
business and professional group,
and Junior Hadassah will meet
jointly at the Stetter Hotel. The
main feature of the afternoon's
program will be a burlesque of the
Purim story by the presentation
of a highly amusing operetta. The
words of the operetta have been
set to the tunes of the famous
Gilbert Sullivan productions, the
"Mikado" and "Pinafore".
The cast includes members of
both the Senior and Junior units.
intensive rehearsals are still be-
ing held.
Members of Senior Hadassah
are urged to bring their daugh-
ters to this meeting, while mem-
bers of Junior Hadassah are asked
to bring their mothers and sisters.
Simon Shetzer, prominent in
Zionist circles, will speak.
Another in the series of Pales-
tinian nights will be held at the
home of Pauline Barahal, 2496
Blaine Ave., Wednesday evening,
March 18. An interesting program
is planned. Those who have not as
yet attended these occasions are
urged to come and spend an eve-
ning filled with the refreshing
spirit of the pioneer in Palestine.
March 22 will see another birth-
day party sponsored by the Hap-
py Day Fund. This gathering will
take place at the home of Sophie
Blanche Schwartz, 1947 Gladstone.

Radomer to Celebrate Purim
The Radomer Friendly Society
will celebrate Purim at 8545 12th

Greenhlat, singer; Almo Phillips,
lyric soprano of Halevy Singing

The Intermediate Council of the
Jewish Community Center is spon-
soring a Purim pageant and mas-
querade which will be held at the
Center on Saturday evening, March
7, at 7:30.
The pageant, which will include
both modern and ancient scenes,
was written by Herman Raznick,
club sponsor and active worker
with the intermediate division.
In addition to the pageant and
masquerade a contest will be held
to determine the most typically
Jewish girl in the intermediate
division.

The marriage of Miss Rae
Levitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Moses Levitt, and Robert Slutzky,
eon of Mrs. Rachel Slutzky, took
place Sunday, March 1, at 6 o'clock
at Congregation B'nai David, Rab-
bi J. S. Sperka officiating.
The bride was lovely in an ivory
lace gown over satin, with short
train, and long sleeves, ending in
a point which extended over the
wrist. The neckline was finished
in a dainty Bramly collar of silk
marquisette piped in satin. The
satin skirt extended below the lace
skirt, and had numerous tiny
ruffles of marquisette and lace,
falling gracefully around the
ankles. Her tulle veil, forming a
long train, fell from a halo, fash-
ioned of lace, trimmed with pearls.
The bride carried Calla Lillies.
Just before the ceremony, Airs.
Lewis Levitt sang '1 love you
truly".
Mrs. Sam Green, sister of the
bride, attended her as matron of
honor. Miss Rose Saperstein was
maid. of honor. The bridesmaids
were the misses Pearl Slutzky, Lot-
tie Sloto, Yetta Teach and Mrs.
M. Lasser,
George Goldman attended Mr.
Slutzky as best man. The ushers
were Morris Mandel, Sam Warsh ,
Morris Lasser, Barney Cohen and
Herman Gash. Little Miss Estelle
Green and Roberta Levitt were
flower girls. Jackie Green was
ring bearer.
Dinner was served to 250 guests.
