29 and March 1

This year's regional conference
of Junior Iladassah will be held
in Toledo, Ohio, on Feb. 29
and March 1. Representatives of
units in Michigan, Kentucky,
Ohio and W. Virginia will con-
vene.
The convention is to take place
in the Commodore Perry Hotel.
An Oneg Shabat tea will be given
Saturday afternoon. Dinner and
round-table discussion will con-
clude the program. The confer-
ence will be officially opened Sun-
day morning. A pageant will be
presented by the Toledo chapter
in the afternoon. A banquet fol-
lowed by a dance will close the
convention Sunday evening.
All members who are interest-
ed are invited to attend the con-
vention. Miss Sophie B. Schwartz,
president, asks that anyone plan-
ning to go should call her imme-
diately at Euclid 8292-W.
On Friday evening, Feb. 14, a
greeting of the Sabbath—Kabba-
lat Shabbat—will be held at the
home of Miss Schwartz, 1947
Gladstone. Heretofore, Oneg
Shabat teas were sponsored by
the cultural committee, but due
to the fact that many girls found
it difficult to attend the Satur-
day afternoon affairs, the ob-
servance was changed to Friday
night. Tales of early pioneer
settlement in Palestine will be
presented by Sadie Finkelstein,
Janet Olender and Helen Kass.
These selections will be taken
from "The Plough Woman" by
Rebecca Katzenelson.
The next birthday party of the
Happy Day Fund will be held on
Sunday, Feb. 9, at the home of

The annual Temple Beth El
Father and Son banquet will ho'
held in the social hall of Temple
Beth El, Wednesday evening, Feb.
26. The party will be filled with
as much food, fun and fellowship
as is possible in a three and one-
half hour program. The dinner
will begin at 6 sharp. A catered
chicken dinner will be served.
Part of the program will be
conducted by Sergeant Blowes of
New York, who will conduct the
amateur show. Men or boys wish-
ing to participate in this show may
apply for an audition by calling

stitute Arranges Chil-
dren's Concert

The Sholem Aleichem Folks In-
stLtute will present a children's
concert, which will take place on
Friday evening, Feb. 14, at Cen-
tral High School.
Under the direction of M. Harr,
director, the children of the
school will enact a four-act play
entitled "The Strike." There will
also be otheer numbers consisting
of singing and dancing.
This play is the sixth in a series
of concerts under the direction
of Si. Harr. The Detroit public
is invited to attend.
