Rehearses Opera

Rehearsals of "Pinafore," the
lovely Gilbert and Sullivan oper-
etta, are now held twice a week, on
Monday and Wednesday evenings
at 7:45, in the main floor chapel
of the Temple Beth El. A large
and enthusiastic group of young
people are participatinig in this
production which will be presented
around the end of February or be-
ginning of March. Philip S. Stern,
chairman of the music committee,
and Arthur L. Goulson, are co-di-
rectors. At the performance, Mr.
Stern will accompany the singers
on the piano, and Mr. Coulson will
portray the role of Sir Joseph Por-
ter, K. C. B. bliss Grace Saleznik
will play the part of Josephine;
Leslie Schmier, that of Ralph; Sirs.
Harriet Marwil, Buttercup; and
William Levy, Dick Deadeye. Oth-
