THIRD "QUIET HOUR OF MUSIC"
AT TEMPLE BETH EL ON SUNDAY
On Sunday, Dec. 29, at 4 p. m.,
the third "Quiet Hour of Music"
of the season will be held at Tem-
ple Betb El when Abram Ray
Tyler, organist of the Temple, will
preside.
The p rogram on this occasion
will be an exceptionally interest-
ing one consisting of an extempor-
ized Symphonic Meditation on the
Twenty-third Psalm. The music
will be preceded by a reading of
the Psalm in both Hebrew and
English by Dr. Leo M. Franklin.
Mr. Tyler has divided his com-
position into four parts, as fol-
lows:
1. "My Shepherd" (Allegro
Maestoso).
2. "Green Pastures and Still
Waters" (Allegretto Pastorale).
3. "Through the Valley of the
Shadow of Death" (Adagio),
4. "Surely Goodness a n d
Mercy" (Allegro Maestoso).
These "Quiet Hours of Music"
which have been reintroduced into
the Temple this season are attract-
ing much interest both on the part
of Jews and non-Jews. They are
open to the public without charge.
